24/7 Full-Service Emergency Department serving adults and children of all ages. Adult Emergency: The Adult Emergency Department on the WakeMed Raleigh Campus is home to Wake County's only Level I Trauma Center, as well as a nationally accredited Chest Pain and Primary Stroke Center.  Raleigh Campus adult emergency department is one of the busiest emergency departments in the state. From minor cuts to major trauma, there's nothing our emergency department staff hasn't seen and treated. Children’s Emergency: Our Children's ED is completely separate from our adult Emergency Department and is located on our Raleigh Campus. The team of pediatric nurses, physicians and specialists have experience working with children, understanding and meeting both their medical and emotional needs. We deliver state-of-the-art emergency care in a way that helps children feel more relaxed and more receptive to treatment. Our facility is a non-threatening, comfortable environment with a cheerful atmosphere, bright murals, children's wall-art and child-sized furnishings.
