The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) works with both youth and adults to teach self-sufficiency in the kitchen. From budgeting and grocery shopping to knife skills and nutrition, EFNEP participants learn how to provide healthy, affordable and delicious meals to their families.

  • Specific Populations Served:Adults who are the primary caregivers of children 18 years or younger and is responsible for planning and preparing their meals and limited resource school-aged youth

  • Fees:There is no cost to participate.
  • Application Process:Contact an EFNEP educator through the website
  • Eligibility Requirements:Adult participants must satisfy at least one of the following: Receive or be eligible to receive federal food assistance. Have a monthly household income that is at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level. Be a pregnant teen or foster youth in transition, regardless of income or age. School-aged youth participants qualify if they meet at least one of the following: Attend a school in which 50% or more of the students qualify for free or reduced price meals. Receive free or reduced price school meals. Come from families receiving SNAP benefits or other federal assistance.
