Abbotsford business donating proceeds to mental health in July

Abbotsford News - 7/10/2021

An Abbotsford business is donating 10 per cent of its proceeds throughout July to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).

Haley Duke of Oak + Harvest said she is doing the fundraiser in honour of her friend Eli, who fought an ongoing battle with mental illness for many years.

"That did not, however, stop him from spreading immense love and light during his time here with us," she said.

Duke said Eli, who would have turned 25 this month, was an avid outdoorsman with a sense of humour and "a heart of gold."

"While he was often making those around him laugh, he also had a very soft and humble presence. He listened intently, offered knowledge and advice respectfully, and deeply cared about other people," she said.

Duke said that by donating proceeds to the CMHA she hopes to not only carry on Eli's legacy, but increase awareness about mental health and the ongoing need for resources in Canada.

Oak + Harvest offers locally curated charcuterie boxes for gifts, special occasions, and everyday celebrations. They offer three different box sizes, and offer both pickup and local delivery.
